Volunteering in Emergencies

The Volunteer Unit coordinates volunteering in emergencies at the headquarters level, and works in cooperation with various agencies and volunteer organizations such as the Lev Echad organization, that deals with recruiting and operating volunteers in times of emergency.

The Unit encourages residents to join the emergency dispatch centers in community administrations in the neighborhoods, which coordinate absorbing volunteers, distributing tasks, and providing guidance to volunteers.

“Neighborhood Trustees” are residents who act as a supportive social network to strengthen community resilience within geographic communities in both routine and emergency situations.

“Neighborhood Trustees” serves as an example of a cohesive society that is more involved and caring in the spirit of "Love your neighbor as yourself".
