Cameras to Forbidden Users of Public Transportation Lanes

The Jerusalem Municipality has posted stationary automatic traffic cameras on streets with public transportation lanes in the city.

 

Drivers please note, as of February 1, 2020, as part of a comprehensive Ministry of Transport and Jerusalem Municipality program for streamlining the city’s transport system, and following the enactment of the relevant legislation, stationary traffic enforcement cameras scattered throughout the city were put into operation near public transportation lanes. The fine for unlawfully using public transportation lanes is NIS 500.

Section 27 A1 of the Transport Ordinance authorizes local authorities to enforce against the unlawful use of public transportation lanes. By virtue of this authority, the Jerusalem Municipality has posted stationary automatic traffic cameras on streets with public transportation lanes in the city.

Notice of fine payment (Hebrew)– Notification in accordance with Section 228 of the Criminal Procedure Law [Combined Version], 1982, for a finable offence.

The notice includes a description of the facts surrounding the offence, the alternatives available to the receiver of the notice, the rate of the fine and the deadline for payment.

Enforcement cameras near public transportation lanes are located in the following streets:

Sundays – Thursdays 06:00-20:00

Fridays 06:00-15:00
