Pedestrian Malls - Traffic Arrangements

Dear residents and business owners, The Jerusalem Municipality would like to inform you that following the initiative of turning several streets around the city into pedestrians on June-August 2020, there will be changes in traffic arrangements.

Gaza Pedestrian Mall - Traffic Arrangements

The following streets will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic: Gaza Street from the Arlozorov Street intersection to the Hayim Hazaz intersection, and RaDaK Street from Bartonora intersection and the Alfasi Street in the west 

Tuesdays from 18:00-23:00

Fridays from 13:00-16:00

Metudela and Ha’ARI streets will be open to traffic, but turning onto Gaza Street will not be permitted.

Exiting HaRav Berlin and Ben Saruq streets will only be possible in the direction of Herzog Street.

Controlled entry for parking needs only will be permitted for residents of Gaza Street, from the direction of Tchernichovsky Street to the Little Gaza garden, upon presentation of an ID card.

A car owner who doesn't follow the instructions, his/her vehicle will be towed!

A Shuttle will be held for the benefit of the residents while the streets are closed - for the shuttle route, click here

Shoshan - Traffic Arrangements

Shoshan streets will be temporarily closed to traffic

Mondays through Thursdays: 20:00-23:00

Parking will not be allowed along Shoshan Street and Uzi Hasson on Mondays to Thursdays from 16:00 to 24:00 and along Queen Shlomzion Street.

Pay Attention: 

Residents living on Koresh Street will be able to park their vehicles on Koresh Street and Shoshan Street by presenting identification, and residents will be able to exit Koresh Street opposite the direction of movement and accompanied by inspectors in the direction of Shlomo HaMeleck. Exiting from Yanai Street will only be possible. 

Alternative parking arrangements in the city center:

Residents with parking permits for the relevant streets will be able to park free of charge at the Safra parking lot from 15:00 until 8:00 the next morning. A resident who wants to park after 8:00 am the next day till 11:00 am, wil need to go to the parking offices and receive a parking permit for free parking. On Friday, the parking lot will be open until an hour before Shabbat.

A car owner who doesn't follow the instructions, his/her vehicle will be towed!

Bethlehem Road Pedestrian Mall - Traffic Arrangements

Bethlehem - Shim'on to Miriam HaHashmonait will be closed to traffic:

Mondays and Tuesdays: from 18:00-21:00

Residents from Mordecai, Ester HaMalka, Merton and Avtallion will be eligible to park at the Beit Hanatziv parking lot on Monday and Tuesday from  17:00 to 08:00 the next day for free. 

Pay Attention: 

Exiting Gedalia and Shemaya streets will only be possible in the direction of Liberty Bell Park

Access to Shimshon, Yehuda, Yocheved, Levi and Shim'on will only be permitted to residents of the streets upon presentation of an ID card.

Exiting from Esther HaMalka Street in the direction of Hebron Road will be permitted.

Zerubbabel and Boaz streets will be blocked off.

Parking Arrangement:

Beit HaNatziv Parking Lot - 101 Hebron Road 

Parking will not be permitted along Bethlehem Road from the Shimon Street intersection to the Yehuda Street from 16:00-21:00

A car owner who doesn't follow the instructions, his/her vehicle will be towed!

Public Transportation:

Closing Bethlehem Road - Monday and Tuesday, 18:00 - until the end of service. 

Route 7 from Ramat Rachel / Diplomat - In the usual route to Ein Gedi Street, to the right of Derech Hevron, HaBankim Junction/Hevron Road, to the left of David Remez, King David, Keren Hayesod and it integrates into his route.

Emek Refa’im Pedestrian Mall - Traffic Arrangements

Emek Refaim Street will be closed to traffic in the streets: Emile Zola and till Azaria 

Wednesdays and Thursdays from 18:00-21:00

Pay Attention:

Exiting from Uziya Street, Asa Street and Derech HaRakevet will only be possible in the direction of Oranim Junction.

Exiting from Carmia and Lloyd George streets will only be possible in the direction of Liberty Bell Park

Exiting from Wedgewood, Zola and Deedes streets will only be possible in the direction of Smats Street

 

Parking will not be permitted along Emek Refa’im Street from 16:00-21:00. 

Parking will be possible at the Liberty Bell Park and the station complex during the days of the event.

A car owner who doesn't follow the instructions, his/her vehicle will be towed!

Residents will be able to park at the station complex and Liberty Bell Park parking lot. In addition, a shuttle will be held for the benefit of the residents at the time the streets are closed - for the shuttle route, click here

Mahane Yehuda Market Pedestrian Mall - Traffic Arrangements

The following streets will be temporarily closed to traffic: Armonim, HaShikma, HaDekel, Beit Ya’akov

Wednesdays and Thursdays from 19:00-23:00

(goods may be unloaded until 11:30 on Beit Ya’akov Street)

The following streets will also be closed: Agripas streets (from Nissim Street to Ezra Raphael Street), Shilo, and Halhul

Wednesdays: from 20:00-23:00

Thursdays: from 20:30-23:00

For the benefit of the residents, there is an arrangement in the Shukanyon parking lot for free parking for residents with a regional parking Permit (a kind of half-subscription - from Wednesday at 15:00 until Sunday at 12:00 noon)

Residents who want to get benefit of this arrangement, should register at the parking offices.

Parking will not be permitted along Armonim, HaShikma, HaDekel, Beit Ya’akov streets , starting on Wednesday from 17:00-23:00 and on Thursday at 17:00 till Friday at 15:00, and on Agripas Streets on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 17:00-23:00.

Pay Attention:

Entrance to Halhul Street will be possible via shilo street to Agripas directed by traffic inspectors. Vehicles from Halhul Street will be allowed to exit.

Parking Arrangement 

The Shuckenyon parking lot will be open during pedestrian mall times and will be free of charge for regional parking permit holders on the streets that are closed on Wednesday at 15:00 till Sunday at 12:00 at noon .Those interested in the service will need to register at the parking lot offices.

The parking lot will be closed to vehicles from the begining of Shabbat until Shabbat ends.

The entrance and exit to the Shuckenyon parking lot is also open during the event

A car owner who doesn't follow the instructions, his/her vehicle will be towed!

Closing of Agripas Street - Wednesday: 19:00 until the end of service, Thursday: 20:00 until the end of service.

The routs coming from the direction of Heikhal Ha-Mishpat 18, 66, 66A, 74, 75, 78 78A - will travel in their usual course to the Heikhal Ha-Mishpat St / Shmuel Baruch, right to Sderot Ben Tsvi, left to Bezalel, left to A'liash, left to Agripas, right to Ki'ach, and return to thier course.
