Mobile post office service operating in Jerusalem

The service for sending and receiving letters is aimed at helping residents of neighborhoods where post office branches were closed

Following the closing of many post offices throughout the city, the Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, requested Israel Post to find a solution for the residents of neighborhoods where the branches were closed.

Israel Post responded to his request, understood the plight of the residents, and started to operate the first mobile post office in Israel here in Jerusalem.

The red vehicle started operating in the city yesterday and was in the Emek Refaim area, where it is expected to operate every Tuesday between 9:00 and 12:00.

Israel Post promised to provide the mobile post office service, gradually and according to demand, in all neighborhoods where it will be needed.

It is important to note that the post truck only provides services for sending and receiving letters, and does not deliver packages. Packages continue to be delivered at postal service centers, and the package delivery service has not been affected.

The mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lion, said "I am aware of and recognize the plight of the residents that resulted from the closing of the post offices, and congratulate the post office management for listening, understanding and finding an appropriate solution for the residents of the city."
