Municipality of Jerusalem to perform major system upgrade

The operation in February is aimed at updating billing and other systems as well as boosting services for residents and businesses

The Municipality of Jerusalem will carry out a comprehensive upgrade of its systems for the first time in decades on February 2-26, with a goal of updating the various systems and boosting the efficiency of the services it provides to residents and businesses in the city.

During the upgrade there will no opening hours or call answering services at the Assessment and Collection Division.

During this period, it will be possible to submit online forms that will be dealt with after the new system goes online.

It will not be possible to receive building permits, land registry certificates, or updated online information about payments to the Municipality.

Fees, authorizations and payment forms issued before the upgrade of the systems can be paid as usual, except for at Municipality offices.

The mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lion, said "Jerusalem is marching with determination toward a technological future, including in terms of the billing systems. The upgrade of the Municipality's systems is great news for the residents of the city. All of the billing systems will be adapted to the highest technological standards with an emphasis on new tidings for residents of the city and on efficiency of service."
