'The University Quarter'
A construction plan for Har Hatsofim has been approved.
Construction is planned between the Hagiva Hatsarfatit neighborhood and the university campus, making the district an attractive place to live for young people and a lively district with academic and cultural activities.
The plans cover a total area of approximately 150 dunams, as state property. The complex currently houses the Hebrew University dormitory complexes (Idelson, Meirsdorf-Reznik and Lerner Sports Complex, Idelson-Bronfman) and a parking lot near the entrance to the university campus.
Around 1,500 housing units, 200 rooms (diyur mugan), 500 student dormitories, new roads, and the construction of the future tramway.
Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion: "We are continuing to build Jerusalem! The plans for Mount Scopus will increase the supply of apartments in the city, student dormitories and public spaces, and meet the different needs of the city . The connection of Hagiva Hatsarfatit with the university campus will strengthen the bond between the inhabitants. It will be an attractive and young district that will attract young couples, and university students. We will continue to strengthen the city as a modern city".
