Jerusalem is Preparing for Cold Weather
According to the updated forecast by the Jerusalem Municipality, a cold winter week and low temperatures. There is even a slight chance of light snow in Jerusalem
Mayor Moshe Lion instructed the municipal divisions to prepare for the winter weather, the possibility of snow in the capital and to prepare for various scenarios and hazards in the current season.
The municipal emergency headquarters completed its preparedness for inclement weather and recommends residents to stay safe, prepare for inclement weather.
The residents of the capital are advised to check their heating system, especially those requiring ventilation, to ensure roof sealing and openings (windows and shutters), to clean and open water drainage cells in the courtyards and roof gutters. In addition, prune trees and branches in private gardens close to cables, check electrical system safety, equip emergency lighting, strengthen antennas, solar water heaters and other roofing objects.
There is also a concern about road hazards, pedestrian lanes, near work sites and low flood areas.
The Municipal Hotline 106 is prepared to respond to public inquiries and to direct the municipal authorities to deal with victims if needed.
The Welfare Administration is conducting tours to locate homeless and offers them shelters. If they are not interested in evacuation, they are provided with blankets and warm clothing.
The public is asked to be cautious in driving and getting around.
Emergency and rescue officials are prepared to deal with emergencies.
