It is estimated that LED lighting consumes about 60 percent less energy than normal lighting and is easier to direct to the desired location.

The Jerusalem Municipality is currently promoting a green campaign to upgrade lighting and switch to LED lighting throughout the city. Among the neighborhoods where this lighting was installed: Har Homa, Rehavia, Gonenim, Kiryat Hayovel, a-Tour, Ramot, East Talpiot  and throughout the city, as well as the String Bridge. In the past year (2020), approximately NIS 6 million has been allocated for the benefit of an upgrade project for LED lighting, while in 2021 the municipality is expected to receive approval for installations worth an additional tens of millions of shekels.

It is estimated that LED lighting consumes about 60 percent less energy than regular lighting and is easier to direct to the desired location. The lifespan of LED lighting is about 15-20 years, and it is a saving in maintenance costs. Another color delivery coefficient of this lighting is 4 times higher than in normal lighting, a figure that increases the level of safety of pedestrians.
