The Jerusalem Municipality is Preparing for a Large-Scale Corona Vaccination Campaign
Against the backdrop of the arrival of the vaccines in Israel, the Jerusalem Municipality is vigorously preparing for a large-scale vaccination campaign, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Kupot Holim
In planning: preparation of large areas in which the vaccinations will take place, transportation of residents to the vaccination stations and charting the population.
The Municipality notes that daily evaluation discussions are being held with the aim of formulating a vaccination plan that is as quick and efficient as possible, and that the Municipality will help transport the public requiring transportation to get vaccinated. In addition, the Jerusalem Municipality will prepare the largest areas possible for the vaccinations, in order to simultaneously vaccinate as many residents as possible and reduce waiting times.
In accordance with Ministry of Health guidelines, prior to the vaccination campaign the adult population, including those over the age of 60 and residing in the community and in nursing homes, will be charted, and after most of them have been vaccinated, the general public will be vaccinated. With regard to the vaccination centers, the Jerusalem Municipality will issue a separate announcement in the next few days.
Mayor Moshe Lion: “Similarly to the Jerusalem Municipality’s effective testing system, so will we operate the vaccination system – determinedly, quickly and responsibly. I call on the entire public to get vaccinated quickly, together we will defeat the coronavirus.”
