A grant of more than half a million shekels to local artists
This week, 143 Jerusalem artists will receive NIS 572,000 in assistance from the Jerusalem Municipality. About NIS 4,000 per artist
This is another step taken by the Jerusalem Municipality in order to assist the Jerusalem cultural world in the Corona crisis. In light of the hardships that many cultural figures have reached, the Jerusalem Municipality has decided to establish an aid fund for the benefit of artists in all fields of the arts.
The assistance fund was established for the artists living in the city, who were employed by the city's cultural institutions or who were employed as artists by the Jerusalem Municipality or by municipal corporations in the field of culture and the arts. The process was carried out through Kol Kora, published on the Jerusalem Municipality website. A professional committee examined the applications in accordance with the published criteria.
156 applications were submitted of which 143 artists met the criteria. Each of them will receive a grant of about NIS 4,000, with the Municipality giving a total of about NIS 572,000.
Mayor Moshe Lion: "We continue to support Jerusalem artists on various platforms. In light of the situation and the challenges many artists have encountered, we have decided to provide you with financial support as well.”
