The Jerusalem Municipality has Confirmed: the American Embassy will be Established in the Capital
The Jerusalem Municipality today (Wednesday, January 13th ) approved two complexes for the American Embassy in the capital.
The Municipality has approved two plans for two U.S. diplomatic complexes in Jerusalem.
The programs offer two diplomatic complexes:
- Expansion of the existing complex in the Arnona neighborhood to a size of 50,000 square meters.
In the Allenby complex, located between Hanoch Albeck, Daniel Yanowski and Hebron Roads - 60,000 square meters.
Each of the complexes includes office buildings, residences and security for employees.
The Municipality notes that regarding the Diplomat Hotel, and in agreement with the embassy representatives, it was decided that the building will not be evacuated until a suitable solution is found for the building's occupants.
The number of floors has been adjusted in accordance with the planning policy for the adjacent neighborhoods: 10 floors towards the Hebron Road and up to 5 floors in the other complexes.
The transfer of the diplomatic complexes in full to Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Israel, is an important and significant move for the State of Israel. The Municipality hopes that, following this transfer, more countries will join the move.
