Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Elimination of Violence Against Women Month in Jerusalem, initiatives and tools for increasing awareness and preventing violence

With the blessing of Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion

From-22/11/2020 16:00 to- 08/12/2020 21:00 Jerusalem

November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The Jerusalem Municipality will mark the day through a variety of activities and various tools during the month – an information campaign throughout the city and various activities for the general public.

Each year, Jerusalem expands the channels for raising awareness in the fight against gender-based violence, and coordinates the activities for raising awareness through the Department for the Advancement of Women during the month of November. This is the culmination of work done throughout the year to minimize and eradicate the phenomenon – through educational programs, professional training, assistance to victims and more. This year a broad campaign will be distributed at light rail stations, calling on women to turn for help and calling on the public not to turn its back and to assist in lend assistance in cases of violence. In addition, the city’s neighborhoods will participate in a call for solidarity and responsibility in this area – through signs, content and a clip created with public participation.

Throughout the month, the city’s female residents will be invited to a number of new programs for the victims of violence, for women interested in helping in the neighborhood in the area of domestic violence and for professionals:
