Subjects

Take care of local businesses

  • We granted an exemption from the fee for issuing facilities, beyond submitting an application for a business license online, discounts on signage fees, holding dedicated courses to deal with the corona crisis and more.
  • We provided financial grants to cover the costs of opening a portfolio, handling a portfolio and building a business plan for obtaining loans.
  • The 'Business Arena' project: meetings between companies and Jerusalem suppliers.

City Neighborhoods

  • About 1,300,000 new flowers were planted in parks, gardens and neighborhoods.
  • About 30 streets were upgraded, dozens of roads were layered and 3,200 crosswalks across the city were painted.

Corona Struggle

  • Assistance: the system has operated and operates in the city's 25 neighborhoods and so far has provided assistance to approximately 8,000 patient families in a variety of aspects.

Education

  • We increased the municipal education budget by about NIS 1 billion: from NIS 2.3 billion last year to NIS 3.3 billion this year for all sectors.
  • NIS 450 million was invested in the construction of 300 new classrooms
  • NIS 220 million was invested in the renovation of 700 educational institutions throughout the city.

Community Life

  • A building trustees project was launched in which about 1,800 volunteers throughout the city take care of the safety of the senior citizens in their building.
  • Digital training: Over 2,200 veteran residents participated in individual and group training and acquired digital tools for keeping in touch with family members and enriching leisure time.
  • Safe home: A project is currently underway to install safety measures in the homes of about 24,000 veteran residents in the city to prevent falls and create a safe living space for them.

Culture and events

  • The first capsule concert complex in Israel was established in Safra Square: performances by the best artists in Israel from all sectors.
  • Heichal Hatarbut in Pisgat Ze'ev: Completed and inaugurated in collaboration with Mifal Hapayis, at a cost of about NIS 40 million, contains 400 seats for repertory theater performances, music, dance and more.
  • The 'Happy Trucks' project in neighborhoods with the best Israeli artists in the various sectors.

Planning, construction and infrastructure

  • More than 2,000 new housing units have been approved and received a permit, and more than 6,000 additional housing units have been approved and are in the process of being issued a permit.
  • The new Sakharov Interchange was inaugurated.

A Clean City

  • Garbage removal systems were intensified with additional shifts throughout the day and pruning days were set for each neighborhood in the city.
  • About 1,000 buried bins with suitable sensors for Shabbat were added throughout the city.
  • About 1,500 new trash cans have been placed throughout the city.

Ready, Steady ... sports!

  • Approximately NIS 63 million was invested this year in the development of sports infrastructure.
  • We set up Sportek, open-air fitness facilities, upgraded and renovated sports halls, courts, pools, studio complexes and more.
  • Approximately NIS 3.5 million was invested in the renovation and development of pitches and sports halls belonging to the Haredi Education Administration.

And the future is still ahead of us

  • The huge plan for the roofing of the Begin axis was approved this year by the local planning and construction committee.
  • A municipal master plan has been launched for paving bicycle paths: as part of it, about 200 km of bicycle paths are planned to be paved throughout the city.
  • A new master plan has been adopted for the Talpiot district: 8,600 housing units, 1.3 million square meters for employment and commerce, dozens of new public buildings, advanced transportation systems, public gardens and landscapes and playgrounds will be built.
  • The future plan for the development of the east city "Silicon Wadi": construction of approximately 200,000 square meters of employment space, along with 50,000 square meters of commercial space and 50,000 square meters of hotels in the eastern part of the city.
