Seasonal Enclosures

Seasonal enclosure permits can be obtained according to municipal procedures and municipal bylaws.

A building permit will be required only in cases of buildings designated for preservation

The following are the required conditions for opening and granting approval for winter enclosures

The attached appendices are required for submission of the application

  • Application form for a winter enclosure permit in the public space signed by the business owner
  • A plan of the business at a scale of 1:50, with a marking of the area designated for the winter enclosure
  • Photos of the front of the business and the area designated for the winter enclosure
  • A copy of the permit and the approved plan for tables and chairs
  • A plan for the enclosure prepared by a qualified professional (3 copies)
  • A signed commitment to maintain order and cleanliness in the public space, to observe the Noise Law, a signed commitment to dismantle and assemble the enclosure in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the Municipality
  • Accessibility certification letter issued by a qualified Building Infrastructure and Environment Accessibility consultant
  • A form for the appointment of a person responsible for inspecting the construction of the enclosure and its stability and compliance with the approved plan after construction of the enclosure, together with the professional’s certification documents
