​The Placemaking Festival is planned as a week of cultural and community events at placemaking sites around Jerusalem during Hanukkah.  In addition, the festival will include a professional conference that will provide a forum for an in-depth, professional and innovative discussion on one of the most prominent issues today in the discourse of Israeli urbanism, of which Jerusalem is among the leaders.

The Michdushalayim Festival emphasizes sustainable energy – creative workshops for kids, a repairs coffee shop, an illumination workshop with Hadassa Froman, dumpster cooking, a philosophical journey through the consciousness of nature, bicycle powered pottery wheels, a study of the letters of A.D. Placemaking at Pier Kenig Street

Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, on the seventh night of Hanukkah, From 10:00 – 14:00

As part of the Placemaking Festival, and following the upgrading of Pierre Koenig Street, we are pleased to inaugurate the new street in cooperation with its businesses and the public.


When is it?

Friday during Hanukkah from 10:00 to 14:00


Where is it?

In the Talpiot Industrial Zone, along Pierre Koenig Street (opposite Hadar Mall), from Rivka Street to HaTnufa Street.


What will there be?

Four music stages: Liora Yitzhak, Yehuda Kaysar, the Alaev Family, the Dynamites, Yael and Eran Horowitz, Uri Dror and others.

The best juggling acts in the city, the Train Theater's Music Box, Baabua soap bubbles and a children's play area.


What else?

Lots of collaborations with the street's businesses:

Kley Zemer will have an open stage with all instruments

Ricochet will hold lectures and set up tents and hammocks

Metzion will hold a fashion show and a special second-hand fair

The Home Design Center will be out in the street

And many other businesses on a special day.


In addition:

A TED stage for lectures by all of the businesses at 37 Pierre Koenig: Electroslil, Chocoladim, Korech Books, a weapons and knitting manufacturer, all on one stage.
