The Israel Heritage Department organizes, produces and operates hundreds of cultural events throughout the year, some of which have a general city nature and some a neighborhood character and in which tens of thousands of people participate each year.
The Department holds activities throughout the year. Special emphasis is placed around the major Jewish Holidays and around milestones in Jewish history and heritage.
The Department’s activities are designed and directed towards a broad range of audiences and are held throughout the city. Examples of activities are as follows:
- Cantorial concerts.
- Winter and summer performances with top religious singers.
- Marathon of women artists, theater festivals in the spirit of Judaism.
- Tours around Jerusalem.
- Outdoor events in Jerusalem around Sukkot, Passover and Jerusalem Day.
- Events and lectures around the Hebrew calendar, which include: legacy events and warrior heritage, archeology and history of the people of Israel.
