The program, estimated to cost about half a billion shekels, will lead to an increase in the number of Zaharons - afternoon supervision at schools in the city - from 700 the previous school year to 2,500 this coming school year
The Zaharons will have kids from the age of three to  second graders (inclusive). It will be possible to open a Zaharon at any school, provided that at least 25 children are registered. In addition, the Zaharons  will operate in kindergartens too. The Zaharons will operate also in the ultra-Orthodox schools and in schools in the eastern part of the city.
The cost of the afternoon for parents will be up to NIS 335 per month only. This is  a significant reduction in prices, while maintaining the extended framework of activity with an additional budget for the reinforcement of teachers, extra curiculum classes, enrichment and more.
