THE JERUSALEM CENTER
FOR
PLANNING IN HISTORIC CITIES
PUSHCARTS PROJECT
It is the intention of the Municipality of Jerusalem to replace all pushcarts in the city with new models.
The new pushcarts are to be better looking and should fit into the street's atmosphere with improved ergonomics.
'The Jerusalem Center' was commissioned to deal with manage the project and to select a new design.
'The Center' organized a competition among architects and designers and as a result 3 models were chosen.
In the process, a new design for 'flower stands' and a temporary enclosure for selling watermelons during the summer, were chosen as well.
Replacing the old existing pushcarts will take place during the following two to three years.
