AN EDUCATIONAL PROJECT-The Model of the City of Jerusalem 
 
Education program for youth around the model 

The educational project  in "The Jerusalem Center for Planning in Historic Cities" is composed of a complex of study plans presenting Jerusalem from different  aspects by way of: personal experience and stimulation of  creative thinking 

 
The educational project  takes place around the model of the city of Jerusalem which 
The idea underlining the project is the use of the model of-as an educational instrument, in order to deal with all the subjects connected with the City,  in the past, the present and the future,, and with the aim of presenting Jerusalem from a different  point of view, "in another language".. 
This working tool forms the central axis around which the educational project was constructed, beginning by making acquaintance with the model, continuing with the understanding of what the eyes are seeing, and by getting to know the cultural sources connected with Jerusalem (written, drawn, musical and constructed sources), and to activities of the participants, by creative thought, and by preparing architectural planning  proposals of their own..... 

The aims of the educational project. 
The central aim of of the project is  to impart to the participants an awareness of the environment in which they live.This awareness should relate to aesthetics in  general and to urban aesthetics in particular. 
an understanding of the reality of Jerusalem,  compared to its perception in imagination and vision 
to illustrate the challenges and dilemmas (among neighbors, Jews and non Jews, among the variety of  Jewish currents ) 
as a result,  to provoke thought and to make them  participate actively in a general view of planning construction in the city. 
Plan of the courses 
The educational project comprises courses and workshops of  three hours or more. 
Each course includes: 
1) Getting acquainted with the model of Jerusalem. 
2) Study of the place of Jerusalem as a city  (In reality, in the future, in vision and imagination, from         theological and literary sources). 
3) Creative workshop - personal expression  and original thinking of the participants. 
4) Upon request, visit of the complex of the municipality ( including the hall of the city council and a view from the terrace of the Mayor).
