This project was initiated by Minister Markus Ulbig, former Mayor of Pirna, in order to support the activities of the ''Aktion Zivilcourage'' organization which promotes tolerance and understanding in civil society and fights against racism and the extreme right movements.<br> <br> During their stay the representatives of the youth movements in Jerusalem were able to compare different methods and approaches to non-formal education. Another focus of the programme was remembering and commemorating the Holocaust period in the two societies and developing ways to educate the younger generation about this tragic past and their responsibility for the future.<br> <br> The 10 day programme included day visits to Prague, Dresden and Berlin as well as meetings with the new Mayor of Pirna, Mr. Klaus-Peter Hanke, public officials, high school pupils and youth workers.
