All of the publishers, editors and booksellers are given a warm welcome to this five day event. It is this personalized approach in the relaxed, but efficient business setting that sets the Jerusalem Book Fair apart and which brings members of the international publishing community back to Jerusalem year after year. <br> <br> Since 1985, one of the highlights of the Fair has been the Editorial Fellowship Program. Established to recognize young editors from around the world and give them the opportunity to meet their international contemporaries. The program provides a unique opportunity for editors to exchange ideas, learn from each other about challenges they are facing and professional problems they have to deal with every day. It also gives them the opportunity to meet with world's leading publishers from all around the world in a warm and informal atmosphere. The Program includes also seminars, social events, tours and international symposia. At recent fairs, the Editorial Fellows have toured Masada, Jerusalem s famed Old City, Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and have bathed in the Dead Sea. At each fair, the Fellows meet with Israeli authors, attend the awarding of the Jerusalem Prize, learn about the history of Hebrew Literature, and attend the book fair where they meet with publishers from around the world. You are given the chance to forge friendships and contacts which will last your entire career. The Fair assists in maintaining this network by sponsoring an annual breakfast at the Frankfurt Book Fair, in addition to reunion seminars at the Jerusalem Book Fair, encounters in cities around the world and a newsletter. Submit an application, resume, recent photo, one letter of recommendation, and one letter from your publisher agreeing to sponsor you. The Book Fair provides the Editorial Fellows with seven nights hotel accommodations beginning two days prior to the opening of the Book Fair. Your publishing house sponsors the flight to Israel and daily out-of-pocket expenses.
