The Wadi Joz neighborhood is located 750 meters above sea level in the Egoz Valley.
The Wadi Joz neighborhood is located 750 meters above sea level in the Egoz Valley (Nahal Egoz) which runs in the direction of the Dead Sea.

The origins of the neighborhood date to the late nineteenth century close to Herod's Gate, when several splendid summer homes were built by wealthy Arab families. Early in the twentieth century an oil depot and distribution center was established here. Today Wadi Joz is a major center for car repair shops.

The Rockefeller Museum of the Antiquities of Israel is located in the neighborhood. It was built by the British in the 1930's. Around 13,000 residents live in the neighborhood.
