Who is required to submit a signposting license application?

Business owners who would like to post a sign in a business which they own or control are required to submit a signposting license application, according to the Jerusalem by-law (Signposting), 5740-1980 (link).

A business owner is required to submit a signposting license application in the following cases:

A.      When opening a new business.
B.      When adding a sign to an existing business.
C.      When there is a change to the nature of the sign - size, location, type.
The sign may be posted only after the license has been issued and the fee paid.
